Porter's Call "Evening Of Stories" To Honor 2024 Founders Award Recipient Peter York

Porter’s Call's 15th annual "Evening of Stories" will be held on Tuesday, August 27th, at the Fisher Center for Performing Arts at Belmont University. In addition to the storytellers and musical guests, the special Founders Award is presented annually during the Evening of Stories. Sponsored by Capitol Christian Music Group and Universal Music Group Nashville, the 2024 recipient of the Founders Award will be music industry veteran Peter York.

In the same way that Porter’s Call reflects the qualities of founder, Al Andrews, the award is presented to an individual whose purpose, compassion, and persistence have changed our community. This individual has dedicated their life to creating a more hopeful and beautiful community. York served for over three decades in leadership at Capitol Christian Music Group and its predecessor companies as chairman/CEO. His musical career goes back to the mid-1970s when he played guitar on records for Phil Keaggy, Michael Omartian, and others. He is credited with developing artists like TobyMac, Switchfoot, Chris Tomlin, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bebe & CeCe Winans, and Amy Grant. York A&R-ed more than 100 albums that have reached at least the gold-selling status.

Individual tickets are now on sale for the Porter’s Call's 15th annual "Evening of Stories." Porter's Call provides care, support, and encouragement for touring recording artists and their loved ones.

Following in the tradition of the last 14 years, "Evening of Stories" is a delightful and inspiring night of storytelling in words and songs. The night will feature two storytellers, Trisha Yearwood and Christian Wiman, and three musical guests, Kyshona, Tommy Prine, and Natalie Hemby. The storytellers will share in the Nashville tradition of stories in-the-round while the musical guests highlight the unique mission of Porter's Call through a story and song. As a non-profit, Porter's Call is sustained entirely by donations, sponsorships, and this annual event. All proceeds from "Evening of Stories" support the work of Porter’s Call.
